What exactly do we do in writing class?

Good question... we WRITE, a lot! Our 4th graders will be taking the NEW writing STARR test, for the state of Texas this March 2012. The test measures a students ability to locate grammar errors within a variety of written passages, as well it evaluates the students narrative and expository writing skills.  Research shows that the more you read, the better your vocabulary becomes.  When you possess a large vocabulary, your writing improves.  In our class, we will study as well as utilize the Writing Process and the 6-Traits of Writing as the basis of all our writing assignments.  Below are a few links that might be helpful.
